Appetizer Wieners
Just Three Ingredients For This Classic Appetizer

Appetizer Wieners

What would a party be without warm Appetizer Wieners coated in your favorite bbq sauce? There are many possible recipes for making appetizer wieners or "Pigs in the Ocean" as we like to call them. Well... there's "Pigs in a Blanket," right?

O.K! Enough of the attempt at humor. This recipe couldn't be easier to make, just put a large package of cocktail wieners along with some bbq sauce and 1 cup of grape jelly in a crock pot. Then let them simmer for a couple of hours. If you're running late, you can always give these a head start and heat them up on the stove in a pot for a while and then put them into the crock pot to stay warm for serving.

If you can't find the cocktail wieners, you can slice up some regular hot dogs and use them instead. If you want a milder sauce, try adding half ketchup and half bbq sauce.

We usually put a slotted spoon next to the bbq wieners for serving, this way most of the sauce will drain out in the crock pot and prevent everyone from having a pool of sauce on their plates. We also put out some toothpicks for stabbing and eating them, just in case our guests don't want to use their fingers.
