Avocado Dip

Avocado DipWhen putting this web page together for Avocado Dip we initially spelled it wrong (avacado). Spell checker to the rescue. Well, anyway you spell it, this recipe is not only tasty but it's healthy too.

Avocado Nutrition

About 75% of their calories come from fat, most of which is monounsaturated fat (the good kind of fat). They also have 60% more potassium than bananas. They are rich in B vitamins, as well as vitamin E and vitamin K.

Most dips and spreads made with avocado will turn brown if not eaten within a day or two. It is usually a good idea to make this dip on the day you are serving it. Once it is made, cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and put into the refrigerator. If your dip has turned brown on the top you can still save it. Just scrape off the top brown layer and then stir it up. However, if the dip smells rancid, then it is too late and you should throw it away and start over.

This dip also makes a great salad dressing.
