BBQ Shrimp Recipe

bbq shrimp

A BBQ Shrimp recipe is probably not something you would normally think of when cooking shrimp on the grill. You might be thinking, "why ruin shrimp with bbq sauce?" but it really is a great flavor combination.

Shrimp cooks so quickly that it is difficult to get enough barbecue sauce on them before they are done. After many attempts we have found an easier way. Thread the shrimp on skewers and cook them on the grill as you normally would (see Easy Grilled Shrimp). Then, heat up a cup of your favorite bbq sauce in the microwave and coat the shrimp all over with the sauce just before you serve them.

BBQ Shrimp

Ingredients:

1 - 2 pounds fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined

Your favorite BBQ Sauce

Skewers

Preparation:

If you are using wood skewers, then you will need to soak them in water for 1/2 hour so they won't burn on the grill.

Preheat your grill on a medium high heat.

Place shrimp on skewers. Skew them twice, once through the top and again through the tail.

Spray shrimp with cooking spray so they won't stick to the grates.

Grill shrimp on both sides until white in color.

Heat 1 cup of BBQ sauce in the microwave and slather the shrimp all over just before you are ready to serve.
