Goat Cheese Appetizer

Goat Cheese Appetizer

This Goat Cheese Appetizer is a very delicious and easy to prepare finger food. The blend of goat cheese, nuts and fruit jam combine together for a yummy addition to your party.

This recipe makes 30 appetizer cups. You can find these mini Filo cups in the freezer section. They are usually near the pie crusts.

Filling the cups is easier if you use a pastry bag to squeeze the mixture into the phyllo cups. See the appetizer tip below to make your own pastry bag.

  • 2 packages mini phyllo tart shells (30 shells total)
  • 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans.
  • 11 oz. semi-soft goat cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. all fruit Raspberry or Strawberry preserves
  • 1/4 cup craisins (dried cranberries)

  2. Place nuts in the work bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade.
  3. Pulse a few times until they are chopped finely.
  4. Add cheese, jelly and dried cranberries to food processor and process until mixture is smooth.
  5. Spread mini phyllo shells onto two cookie sheets.
  6. Spoon goat cheese spread into mini phyllo shells, dividing evenly among shells.
  7. Bake for about 7 minutes or until edges of phyllo shells are golden.

Make your own pastry bag:

Make your own pastry bag by filling a gallon-sized Ziploc bag with the goat cheese mixture and cutting off one of the bottom corners of the bag. Pipe the goat cheese spread into mini phyllo shells using the Ziploc bag. Garnish with additional nuts, if desired.
