Worm CupcakesHalloween Cupcakes are easy to make and are a great halloween party food. Our son loves things that look gross. Actually what boy doesn't?
The idea behind these cupcakes is to make them look like worms are wriggling out of dirt. After the icing is put on, they are rolled in crushed Oreo cookies to make the dirt and then the gummi worms are glued to the top with more icing.

Our children just can't resist these cool treats created with a special theme. We took these to a school party and they were a hit with all the kids and the parents. Everyone wanted to know how to make them.

Halloween Cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • Sleeves
  • 1 container prepared frosting
  • 1 package of gummi worms
  • 1 package of Oreos

 

Preparation:

Prepare the cake mix according to package directions for baking cupcakes.

Let them cool and then put on the frosting

Put 5 or 6 Oreos in a sealable plastic bag and crush with a heavy object such as a rolling pin into granules and empty them into a small bowl.

Dip the frosted end into the crushed Oreos (see picture below)

Add some frosting to the ends of gummi worms and place them on top.
