Great Flavor Without The Guilt

 

low fat dipThis is one of our favorite Low Fat Dip recipes. Whether you are hosting a party family gathering or just giving yourself a treat, this smooth and creamy dip is great to snack on with low fat crackers, veggies, or pita chips.

It uses cottage cheese and a low fat salad dressing. You can vary the ingredients to your own taste. I usually put in a few shakes of hot sauce.

As far as which flavor of salad dressing to use, we have been partial to low fat ranch dressing. With the line of fat free dressings growing larger you have more choices than ever.

Serve with veggies or crackers. There are also fat free versions of snack chips. I found fat free Fritos the other day. I take this dip with me to football parties so I can snack on something healthy.

 

 

Low Fat Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 Tbls. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbls. milk
  • 2 Tbls. low fat salad dressing
  • 2 Tbls. green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup parsley, coarsely chopped
  • Add pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. Mix ingredients in a blender or food processor until mixture is smooth and creamy. Scrape sides as needed.
