meatball appetizer for parties

Super easy Meatball Appetizer. This has got to be the one of the easiest finger foods we have listed on this site. You may be wondering why there is grape jelly in the recipe. It serves as a sweet flavor to offset the tangy bbq sauce. The two flavors blend together nicely.

Every time we attend a football party or potluck dinner at church there is always a warm pot of barbeque meatballs. They are a wonderful addition to any party and they don’t last long.

We used to provide toothpicks for eating this meatball finger food with but they slide off too easy and make a big mess. So, we have a slotted spoon available for scooping them out onto a small plate. Then our guests can eat them with a fork.

Unless of course, you're my brother, who eats them with his fingers and then wipes his hands on his pants. Why do I invite him to my parties?

They should be kept warm in a self heating container like a crock pot. You could make your own meatballs but buying a bag of frozen pre-made meatballs keeps this recipe easy to make.

Meatball Appetizer Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Purchase prepared meatballs
  • A jar of your favorite barbeque sauce. (you might need two depending on how many meatballs you are making)
  • 1 cup of Grape Jelly

Preparation:

  1. Heat the meatballs according to the package instructions.
  2. Put the barbeque sauce and Grape Jelly in a microwave bowl or large measuring cup and heat in the microwave for a few minutes.
  3. Combine the meatballs and sauce together in a serving bowl or better yet keep them warm by placing them in a crock-pot and turning the temp to low.

Appetizer Meatball Recipe Tip:

Provide toothpicks for eating them. If you prefer; you can use a jar of spaghetti sauce instead of barbeque sauce.
