At one of our parties we made a big plate of Nachos. After all, it is our favorite Mexican finger food. Big Mistake! By the time everyone started digging into them the chips were soggy and unmanageable. Yuk... So the next day we decided to re-think this recipe.
We had to keep the chips away from the other ingredients to avoid another soggy mess. So we decided to combine everything into a baking dish and make it a dip. This way your guests can spoon some dip on their plates and scoop chips into it. Or just scoop the chips right into the dish.
Mexican Party Food Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 – pound of Ground Beef
- 1 – package of Taco Seasoning
- 1 – can of Refried Beans (See Below)
- 1 – Jar of your Favorite Salsa
- 1 – bag of shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 – 8 oz. container of Sour Cream
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 350˚F
- Prepare Taco Meat as instructed on the Seasoning Package
- Spread Refried Beans on the bottom of an 8" x 8" baking dish. (This is the dish you will serve it in)
- Spread the Prepared Taco Meat on top of the beans.
- Spread the Salsa on top of the Taco Meat.
- Now spread out the cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake at 350˚F until bubbly. (About 20 mins.)
- Take out of the oven and serve with Tortilla chips and Sour Cream.
Just remember, this will be too difficult to transfer to another dish, so you will need to serve it in the dish you bake it in.
