Salsa Cheese Dip

Salsa Con Queso

salsa cheese dip

Mmmm… Salsa Cheese Dip. It's cheesy with a kick and easy to make. It goes well with tortilla chips, corn chips and cubes of bread. You can serve this creamy dip with some chopped green onions on top.

You can customize this dip by adding chopped Jalapeno peppers or adding a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce. You can also use a can of Ro-Tel tomatoes with green chilis instead of the salsa. The amount of heat you add is up to you. My friends like it hot, so I use a hot salsa in this dip.

If your a meat lover and sausage is your thing, then there is also a Sausage Con Queso recipe on this site.

If this dip starts to get cool and hard to dip into after a while then you can heat it up again in the microwave. If you have a small crock pot, you can keep it warm in that on the low setting. Just remember to stir it once in a while so the cheese on the bottom doesn't burn. Although, we haven't had that problem, since this dip is gone in about 20 minutes.

Salsa Cheese Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 – pound Velveeta Process Cheese Spread, cubed
  • ½ – cup Thick & Chunky Salsa

Preparation:

  1. Combine ingredients in 1-quart heat proof bowl.
  2. Cook at Medium power for 3-4 minutes or until cheese spread is melted, stirring after each 1-1/2 minutes.
  3. Keep warm in a crock pot set on low or reheat in the microwave if it gets too cold.

Salsa Cheese Dip Tip:

It is the salsa that determines how spicy the dip is. You can usually get salsa in Mild, Medium and Hot. Medium is usually the best way to go unless your guests are total heat wimps, then go with the mild.
