Shrimp Dip

Two Tasty Dips To Try - One Cold and One Hot

Shrimp Dip

Shrimp is always nice to serve your guests and a creamy Shrimp Dip is one of our favorite ways to serve it. I always feel like we are treating our guests to something special when we serve this.

For this recipe you will need to chop your shrimp into bite sized pieces unless you are using the really small ones.

This is a great cold dip for any party. We have also included one of our favorite hot dips below.

One of our friends who made this last year added 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. We haven't tried this yet but he says it enhances the flavor nicely.

  3. Cover bowl, and refrigerate before serving.

Hot Shrimp Dip

This Hot Shrimp Dip is full of flavor. It's easy to make and goes great with crackers and pita chips.

A can of condensed soup really kicks up the flavor with this recipe and I usually add a teaspoon of hot sauce just to give it a bit of spice. We usually make this ahead of time and keep it wrapped in the refrigerator. When most of the guests arrive we heat it up in the microwave, put it out on the table, and stand back while it gets devoured.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can condensed cream of shrimp soup
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (4 ounce) can small shrimp, drained or fresh or frozen shrimp cooked and chopped into bite sized pieces.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onion

Preparation:

  1. In a medium microwave safe bowl, beat softened cream cheese and the can of cream of shrimp soup together until fluffy.
  2. Stir in shrimp.
  3. Microwave for about 2 minutes, or until warm.
  4. Sprinkle chopped green onion on top.
