Spider Cookies

Kids Love To Make These Creepy Cookies

Spider Cookies
Spider Cookies are a quick and easy Halloween cookie recipe. Just three ingredients are necessary to make them. It's a great last minute recipe for school parties or for your kids at home.

If you want to take this recipe a step further you can dip the pretzels in some melted chocolate before inserting them into the cookie. Just put about half a cup of chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and heat them on high for 10 second intervals, stirring them inbetween each heating until they are melted and smooth. Dip the pretzels in and cool them off in the refrigerator before using them in your cookies. This makes them look more like spider legs.

Another idea you can use for the spider legs is to cut up some black licorice strings. They are more flexible and look creepier. You can also use red hot candies for he eyes. Just glue them on with a tube of red icing.

You can usually find special edition oreos around the holidays. I found some with orange icing for Halloween. They looked pretty good. I like to take these to the school parties my son has for class. The kids always get such a kick out of them. I just have to be sure that there is enough for every child to get one.

Spider Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg. of Double Stuff Oreo Cookies (we used the kind with the chocolate middles)
  • 1pkg. of stick shaped pretzels or some black licorice strings.
  • 1 Tube of Red decorating icing.

Preparation:

  1. Insert stick shaped pretzels in the sides of the Oreo cookies. (three per side). We used the double stuffed kind of Oreo so that there is more room for the pretzels.
  2. Make the eyes using a tube of red decorating icing.
