Spinach Appetizer Dip

Two Tasty Spinach Dip Recipes

Spinach Dip

Spinach Appetizer dip is one of those appetizers that you see at almost every party or family gathering. It's an easy spinach dip to make and it lets people serve themselves, which cuts down on the prep time for you. We have also included a version with bacon and blue cheese below this one.

When we see this at parties, 99% of the time it is served in a bowl made out of a hollowed out round loaf of bread. If time is an issue, don’t feel pressured to do the bread bowl thing. It will be just as delicious if you put the dip in a regular bowl and provide chips, crackers or pieces of bread with it.

We have begun to get creative with this recipe over time. At our last party we added some crumbled bacon and chopped green onion to the dip. Everyone really liked it that way. Our next addition will be to add some shredded cheddar cheese and some chopped water chestnuts to give it a different texture.

If you are going to make this dip ahead of time, then make sure you take it out an hour before you plan to serve it. The cream cheese will get very stiff and it will be hard to dip anything into it.

If you are serving bread for dipping, then put the bread pieces onto a baking sheet and toast them for a few minutes. This will make the bread easier to dip with.

  1. In a medium bowl, blend spinach, sour cream and dry vegetable soup mix

Here is Another Version of Spinach Dip

Spinach Dip With Bacon and Blue Cheese

Spinach Dip

This Spinach Dip Recipe has a new twist. In this version, we have added bacon and blue cheese for a more intense flavor combination.

After the spinach has been defrosted in the microwave, you will need to squeeze out the excess moisture. You can do this easily by placing the spinach in a colander and pressing down on it with a fork until most of the water is gone.

  5. Transfer mixture to medium bowl and stir bacon pieces into dip.

Spinach Dip Tip:

Add some color to your spinach appetizer. You can dice some tomatoes, cheese or carrots and sprinkle them on top of your dip to add that professional touch.
