Thumb Print Cookies

Thumb Print CookiesThumb Print Cookies are a basic cookie recipe that your kids will love to make with you. Especially when they get to stick their thumb in something.

You can substitute other ingredients for the jam, like chocolate kisses, dried cherries or dates. You can also bake the cookies without anything in the thumb print and fill with icing after they cool.

Try adding green food color to the dough for Christmas and filling with a red preserve. For Halloween you can mix in some red and yellow food coloring to make the batter orange.

For St. Patrick's day, you can add some mint jelly to the middle.

For Fourth of July, you can add red food coloring to the batter and put blueberry preserves in the middle. Or don't put anything in the middle, let them cool, then put in some white icing.

The possibilities are endless, just have fun with them.
