Veggie Dip Recipe

Veggie DipThis is a great tasting Veggie Dip Recipe that has been in our family for many years.

As far as veggie dips go this one is easy to make. If you are looking for a stronger flavor, then you can add an extra teaspoon of Italian salad dressing mix or sometimes we add a teaspoon of hot sauce for a bit more zing. If you add a lot of hot sauce the dip might turn pink. Another way to add some spice to this dip is by adding a pinch or two of cayenne pepper.

The secret to getting the flavors blended correctly is to let it sit in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Overnight is better. The dry salad dressing and onion flakes need time to gather moisture so they blend in completely with the veggie dip.

Serve with carrots, celery, broccoli and some sliced zucchini. If you like bell pepper, then slice up some red, green and yellow ones, they taste great and add color to your vegetable plate. Of course, this dip isn't limited to vegetables. I like to use it as a chip dip also. Pita chips are my favorite for dipping.

As a garnish, we sprinkle some chopped green onion on top.
