White Bean Hummus

white bean hummus

White Bean Hummus uses Cannellini beans instead of Garbanzo beans. You can also use Navy or Great Northern beans as a substitute if you can't find Cannellini beans.

This recipe calls for 1 tablespoon of Tahini (ground sesame seeds). It can be hard to find and it can be expensive. You can leave the Tahini out of this recipe if you want to.

As you are mixing the ingredients in the food processor, you will need to determine if the consistency is right. It should be smooth and creamy. If it is too stiff, then add water, a little at a time, and keep pulsing the food processor until the texture looks right.

We have listed two garlic cloves in this recipe. It's not an exact science, so you can add as much garlic as you like. If you like your Hummus spicy, then add a dash or two of Cayenne pepper or your favorite hot sauce to taste. That is the great thing about a homemade hummus recipe, you can control the flavors to suite your taste.
